I hate humidity, and having grown up in Missouri, and lived in Virginia on the coast for 10 years, I've certainly experienced it to the hilt. Then there was Okinawa and the Azores – also both very humid. Azores to the point that everything grew mold on it – you couldn’t shut your dresser drawers, cabinet or closet doors – or everything would be fizzy with mold in a day or two.

Then again, I hate wicked dry air as well. When I was in Colorado, I got nose bleeds every day because my sinuses were so dried out, and living in Australia was even worse with the flies trying to get into every orifice of your body to try to find some sort of moisture. Yuck! Here, in New Hampshire, it's perfectly in the middle - yes, the occasionally humid day, but not very often.

I absolutely love the snow – even the copious amounts we get here in the White Mountains. Hence, I didn’t like Missouri, Virginia, Okinawa, Australia, or the Azores because of the lack of snow.

I’ve never been much of a heat/summer person – probably because of the humidity of every place I’ve lived. But, with our long winters here, I now appreciate and enjoy warm (okay, less than 80 degrees F) days and the sun on my skin. Admittedly, this summer, and last, have been miserable in that department – rain, rain, rain.

But, overall, I absolutely love it where I live now, and I seriously can’t think of anyplace I’d rather be.

And yes, you are welcome to visit anytime – you, you & the girls, you, Colin & the girls!

Anywhere in the mountains. Upstate NY and PA have some gorgeous terrain to explore. As long as my neighbors were at least a mile away in all directions, I would be contentedly happy. Then again I've been wanting to experience NYC. What if we didn't have to go with location. Just travel on onen endless roadtrip, finding all the back roads and mountain passes. I find someone that wants to live like that, I believe I would have discovered my soulmate. (Hugs)Indigo

I love Hawaii too, but you'd need to be rich to fly away when you get to squirrely living on a little Island thousands of KM form a real big city.

I think you have it right, California. If the state wasn't bankrupt, I'd want to move there.

I like Oregon too, but you run into some the same problems of BC... rain and grey for large tracts of the year.

Oh, Southern France is pretty cool.

Well I can't help you here, babe. Southern Indiana is GORGEOUS in the fall, just breathtakingly gorgeous. We take long rides through winding country roads full of cows & goats, and stop off at little roadside stands and visit little antique stores.

But the humidity?

OH MAH GAWD.

It's horrific!

So Fall is what keeps me here. The beauty of fall.

Spring is muggy, temps that go from 30 degrees to 70, then back to 30. Winter is cold, and either a crap ton of snow, or none at all. Summer, tho? SUMMER IS UNBEARABLE with it's 90 degree humidity indexes and it's scorching heat that takes your breath away from all the HUMIDITY.

I hate it.

So.. yeah, you find that perfect place and we'll go together ;)

You mentioned wanting to live in Starts Hollow, which made me chuckle. :) That imaginary Connecticut town isn't too far off from my neighboring towns. Stars Hollow would be too small for me - but I visit these small towns for Farmer's Markets, fresh eggs, a chance to watch cows graze, festivals, and visiting small Mom 'n' Pop shops. There's an amazing amount of antique stores - but nothing quite like Mrs. Kim's!

I want to live in a climate that is 5 months of spring, 6 months of autumn, and 1 month of winter. No humidity. Ever.

I don't think your alone in your thoughts...at least I know, I often wish to be somewhere else (and I've lived a lot of places.) I love summer - the heat, the sun, being outside, but no-humidity and I, not so much. Its hot & humid here, but I HATE the cold. Ok, so its the wet cold that I hate, but who's counting.
Anyhow, my point is everyplace has a great quality - but if I could afford to live in those places above-yeah, why not just live in them all, move around from season to season and enjoy them all. And of course I'd come back here, afterall, I won't find BBQ like this much of anywhere else! :)
